Upgraded Red for new Trout, Redfish tournament
I launched my kayak solo this morning again. As I entered the water, I saw 2 manatees. I pedaled around them, and casted at a mangrove shoreline. Out of nowhere, something huge moved directly next to my kayak. I think it actually bumped my kayak, and lifted it out of the water. I'm still not sure who was more surprised, me or the other manatees I hadn't seen.

Redfish 9/22 and 9/23
Spent all of Tuesday almost chasing reds on the flats but the big schools that were hanging around were hard to find. Plucked a couple of small ones out of the mangroves including a bonus bonnet head. switched up to mullet pods on a open flat and got a good bite from a nice overslot although having little experience fishing my buddy pulled a tad too hard and snapper SEE MORE

Skinny Lipper XL and New Prototype Success My past couple trips have been focused on finding redfish schools that should be showing up any time now in good numbers. My favorite lure for doing that is the skinny lipper xl school once it casts so far and generates strikes even when they are t actively feeding.
